Going through
The only way is through — there is no up or down, no backward, no right or left, no inward or outward.
The only path forward is to go through.
There is no true way around, because if you try to avoid it, you’ll end up facing the same thing again.
So whenever there is a challenge, pain, or lack of motivation, the only way is to move through it.
Immerse yourself in it…
The First Noble Truth: Life Is Suffering
At first, this sounded pessimistic to me — something that couldn’t possibly be true, something that couldn’t define what life is about.
But here’s the thing: life is deeply connected to suffering. Yes, there are moments of joy, pleasure, happiness, and calmness — but look at your day, your life.
Simply moving your body contains effort and pain. The way we speak to others, and to ourselves, often carries subtle suffering. There are days when we don’t want to get out of bed. There is pain outside, and pain inside.
Whenever something changes, we resist. Whenever something is taken from us, we suffer.
The only way to deal with suffering is to be with it — to fully accept and appreciate it.
You cannot go around it; avoiding it only hides it under the rug, where it will resurface later.
Resisting it only makes it worse.
To go through means to remain fully present — both when suffering is here and when it is not.
The Illusion of Continuity
The continuity of life is an illusion.
The idea that we can connect the past, present, and future as one continuous line is deceptive.
All we truly have is the present.
Each moment, we choose who we want to be.
I cannot define who I am based on who I was.
I decide who I am now — in this instant.
There is no fixed destiny between past and future; only the present moment, where choice exists.
The Meaning of Challenge
Everything that happens — or has happened — in your life serves your journey and your growth.
When something unpleasant arises or causes suffering, there’s always a choice to make:
either you face it and overcome it, or you postpone it — leaving it for your future self to deal with.
Nothing happens by chance. Situations appear as mirrors of unresolved inner matters — they resurface so that you can finally bring them to light.
In Buddhist traditions, it’s said that if you couldn’t overcome an issue in a previous life, it will return in this one — giving you another chance to “pass through it.”
Even our language hints at this truth: success comes from going through.
Life presents cycles, repeating again and again until you transcend them.
If you don’t see it from a Buddhist perspective, you can still notice the same pattern in this lifetime.
Have you ever faced a situation that felt almost identical to one from your past — something you failed to resolve — and now it appears again, seemingly out of nowhere?
There’s a reason for that.
What you fear is what you think about.
What you think about is what you attract.
And what you attract inevitably comes to you.
So Remember
Whenever life confronts you with pain, confusion, or hardship —
don’t run, don’t avoid, don’t resist.
The only way is through.
